Citroën has unveiled the New C5 Aircross Concept in Paris. It features a bold design with clean lines, clever architectural and design features for improved efficiency, and accommodates all powertrains. The concept previews a family-oriented model set for 2025.

Citroën introduces its C5 Aircross Concept, previewing its next C-segment SUV. The concept features a multi-energy vehicle with an aerodynamic design built on the Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform. It promises a connected, comfortable driving experience for families with generous interior space.

A bold SUV reflecting Citroën's ambition

In a highly competitive and uniform SUV market, the New C5 Aircross Concept stands out with its dynamic design and strong proportions. Its front end, featuring the new logo, combines strength with fluidity.

Breaking from softer designs, C5 Aircross Concept adopts a solid and serious look, with a height of 1.66m and length of 4.65m (+15cm compared with the current C5 Aircross). The widened tracks and pronounced shoulders give it a confident road presence, while the spacious cabin emphasises its family-friendly nature. The clean, energetic design is sleek and purposeful, avoiding unnecessary distractions.

The design features ample cargo space and vertical colour clips on the front doors and bumper, maintaining consistency with Citroën’s latest silhouettes.

New light signature - A symbol of innovative design

The new car features a modern three-point light signature at the front and an elevated black strip on the boot at the rear. The design elements convey modernity, technology, and character, while also aiding in managing aerodynamics.

Sculpted for efficiency

The New C5 Aircross Concept features streamlined body styling, prioritizing aerodynamics in its design to optimize efficiency without compromising the vehicle’s identity or spacious interior. This results in an estimated 18-mile increase in electric range on the motorway compared to the current C5 Aircross silhouette.

At the front, the design is fluid and uncluttered, with a slightly lower nose to enhance air penetration. The full, generous volumes maintain a balanced silhouette for optimal aerodynamic flow. Measuring 4.65m in length and 1.66m in height, New C5 Aircross features an extended rear overhang that aids airflow.

The rear is designed specifically for improved aerodynamics, with a sloping roof and a curved upper cabin. Inspired by technology and electronic devices, the striated bi-tone elements on the rear quarter panel help direct airflow.

Citroën Light Wings feature flush-mounted rear lights designed to enhance aerodynamic performance while maintaining space in the passenger compartment. The curved area near the rear bumper is designed to partly reverse drag and create thrust, and integrated flaps and air inlets further enhance aerodynamic performance.

For the first time, Citroën introduces the STLA Medium platform

Citroën’s European range features modern platforms tailored for different market segments. The new C3 and C3 Aircross use the Smart Car platform with advanced driving aids and connectivity. The new C5 Aircross Concept utilizes the STLA Medium platform, offering multi-energy options and advanced driving aids.

Even more comfort, connectivity and space on board

New C5 Aircross Concept showcases new proportions for Citroën’s upcoming C-segment SUV, along with undisclosed innovations inside. The interior is designed as a wellness area, resembling a lounge, allowing five occupants to relax and travel in comfort. More details will be revealed in 2025.
